The best protection for IT infrastructure

Firewalls

Websites, e-commerce platforms, and web applications are frequent targets for hackers. Organizations face increasing hurdles in keeping fraudsters out of their IT infrastructures. A firewall monitors both incoming and outgoing communication. Interconnect's security portfolio includes a choice of firewall options designed to fulfill the unique requirements of each enterprise.

Managed Firewalls

Firewalls come in a variety of configurations and require professional management. Proper configuration and regular patching are required to protect against the most recent threats.  Without this, risks increase significantly, as a poorly configured or outdated firewall exposes your network to attacks.  If your business requires a fully managed firewall solution, Interconnect provides Managed Firewall services with two options: dedicated firewall and shared firewall.

  • Dedicated firewall: A physical firewall, hosted and managed in Interconnect's datacenter. If your organization requires maximum availability of the service, there is the option to purchase single site or multi-site redundancy. This provides availability in the event of hardware failure or planned maintenance.
  • Shared firewall: The shared variant offers a virtual firewall that is hosted on the reliable shared platform in Interconnect's datacenter. The service uses host redundancy and therefore experiences no downtime in the event of hardware failure.

Self-service Firewalls

For organizations that want full control over their firewall management, Interconnect offers flexible self-service options. This allows you to configure, update, and maintain your firewall yourself, tailored to your organization’s specific needs. This approach is ideal for organizations with in-house IT expertise that value customization and autonomy.

  • NSX Firewall: Within the Interconnect Cloud, you receive the VMware NSX Firewall as a standard feature. This solution secures each individual virtual machine (VM) with a centrally managed firewall. The management interface is seamlessly integrated into the Cloud Director portal, providing a unified experience.
  • Dedicated firewall: If your organization prefers to maintain full control and has specific configuration and management requirements, such as patch updates and configuration changes, you may opt for the Dedicated Firewall under your own management. This option provides access to Interconnect’s physical firewall hardware while allowing you to manage it independently.
  • Bring your own firewall: Interconnect also offers a third option that provides complete flexibility. Unlike the NSX Firewall and Dedicated Firewall solutions, this allows you to implement your own virtual or physical firewall to secure and manage your internet connectivity according to your specific needs.
