Interconnect Selected as Premier VCSP Partner by VMware by Broadcom

Are you a Registered Secondary VCSP (VMware/Broadcom)? And do you have questions about how to continue your ‘VMware/Broadcom’ activities after April 30? Then the information below is important for you.

• By March 31 at the latest, your Usage Meter must be on version v4.8 due to core registration for the month of April 2024.

• The reporting month of April 2024 will be invoiced in early May 2024 based on the terms of the VCF license agreement you still need to finalize. You can request this at licentie.mgmt@interconnect.nl

• The VCF license agreement will contractually start on May 1, 2024, as your current Rental Agreement ends on April 30, 2024.

You may have received a message from Broadcom at the end of 2023 notifying you of the termination of your VMware license agreement(s) and/or partner agreement as of April 30, 2024. We understand that this change brings uncertainty and questions. After all, you just want to continue providing your services based on the trusted VMware software.

Now that Interconnect has been selected as a Premier VCSP Partner of VMware by Broadcom, we can continue providing services based on the Interconnect Private Cloud as you expect from us. Additionally, as a primary VCSP, we have the privilege to offer registered secondary VCSPs, who have not been invited by Broadcom or choose not to participate in Broadcom’s Partner Program, the White Label VMware Cloud Foundation program from the secondary VCSP’s data center. Interconnect will handle, besides support, the delivery and measurement of the Usage Meter (v4.8 and higher). We will also take care of your reporting and billing based on commitments and/or on-demand overages.

We take responsibility for both first-line and second-line support. If you still experience issues with your VMware environment, the Broadcom team is available to assist you.

Broadcom has significantly simplified the VMware product portfolio, and through the VCSP program Interconnect uses the VMware Cloud Foundation product:

VCF has a different billing model due to Broadcom’s acquisition. In the old VMware model, costs were based on points, while the new model charges based on the number of cores per CPU/host with a minimum of 16 cores per CPU. Pricing is based on commitments (discounts) and on demand (no discounts).
